Of course, copyright law varies from one country to the next, but this infographic (created in 2014 by Langwitches) illustrates “copyright consciousness” which can apply in many countries. It introduces useful concepts and helps decision-making. The flow-chart incorporated below is intended to provide “a clear route to follow to something that is not as clear cut in nature.” It was written with US law in mind: for those in the UK, Fair Use is sometimes similar to Fair Dealing but its not exactly the same.
