Professor Lei Lian, MD. is currently a colorectal surgeon and PhD supervisor at the 6th Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. He trained at the Cleveland Clinic in the USA and returned to China through the Talent Introduction Project.
Professor Yulin Chen is the Associate Professor at Department of Physics, Oxford University and Adjunct Professor at ShanghaiTech University. He earned his bachelors degree in physics from University of Science & Technology of China and studied physics in Stanford University from which he obtained his Doctorate Degree in 2008.
Professor Lei Shu is a distinguished Professor in Nanjing Agricultural University in China, and a “Lincoln Professor” of the University of Lincoln, UK. He is also the director of the NAU-Lincoln Joint Research Center of Intelligent Engineering, and Vice Director of CCF TCAPP China. He has published over 400 papers in conferences, journals, and books in the area of sensor networks.
He has been an Associate Editor for many IEEE publications, including: Transactions on Industrial Informatics, Communications Magazine, Network Magazine, IEEE Systems Journal, IEEE Access, and IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica.
He has served as Co-chair for more than 50 international conferences and workshops including: Symposium Co-chair for IWCMC 2012 and ICC 2012, and General Co-chair for Chinacom 2014, Qshine 2015, and Collaboratecom 2017. He’s also been a Steering Committee member and TPC Chair for InisCom 2015, 2016, and 2017, as well as a TPC member for more than 150 conferences, including: ICDCS, DCOSS, MASS, ICC, Globecom, ICCCN, WCNC and ISCC.
Ms. Run Zhu is the Deputy Chief Officer at the Talents Office of Zhejiang University. She received her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Sydney, and started her career at Zhejiang University in 2010.
She has been involved in human resource management for almost 10 years, and is very familiar with various talents programs in China, as well as the specific talent programme policies at Zhejiang University.
The Talents Office at Zhejiang University aims to strengthen the faculty through attracting, developing, and retaining talent. The Talents Office is deeply committed to attracting outstanding scholars from across the world and upholds the belief that: “the soul of a university is its professors”.
The major responsibilities of the Talents Office include the recruitment, assessment, and support of top-tier talents, the provision of various services for these faculty members, and the processing of applications for various talent programmes.
Dr Yuanzhe Xuan is an Associate Professor and the Programme Director of the Data Science Programme in UIC. Dr Xuan is now teaching courses related to data processing techniques and Big Data technology.
Bo Zhu received his Ph.D. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2004. He continued his research as a postdoctoral researcher, and then as a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow, also at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. He moved to RIKEN in 2008, and received a SPDR Fellowship to start his independent research in 2010.
Professor Stuart Perrin was appointed Dean for International Affairs at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou, China, in February 2017, with the responsibility for leading the internationalization agenda at the university, including issues relating to the appointment of international faculty.
Kruna is Publisher for the IET Journals portfolio and is responsible for the strategic development and new business development including partnerships and new journal launches.
Gordon Redding is a socio-economist educated at Cambridge in economic geography, and with a PhD at Manchester in organization theory, and an honorary doctorate from the Stockholm School of Economics. He spent a decade as an executive in UK industry and he’s a specialist on China and the regional ethnic Chinese. He also works on the comparison of different systems of capitalism, and on the role of education in societal development.
He was also a member of the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation. He has directed the Euro-Asia Centre at INSEAD, and has extensive experience in corporate consultancy with multinationals.
Now living in London he has held a Visiting Professorial Fellowship at the Institute of Education, UCL. He is also a Fellow of the HEAD Foundation in Singapore, a think-tank he formerly directed, which is devoted to research on education and its role in societal progress internationally.
He has received the Biennial Award for Scholarship of the International Association of Chinese Management Researchers for his early study The Spirit of Chinese Capitalism. Related publications include co-editing The Oxford Handbook of Asian Business Systems, and (with Michael Witt) The Future of Chinese Capitalism, Oxford University Press. He is also senior editor of The Oxford Handbook of Higher Education Systems and University Management due out in late June 2019. He is currently sufficiently risk-prone to be working on a general theory of societal progress.
